P0420 code

Got this check engine light this morning. My OBD read the following:

"P0420 catalyst efficiency below threshold"

can someone give me some details on this?

Not Porsche specific answer, but looks like perhaps your Cat has gone bad. Could also be caused by bad 02 sensor or MAF.

Probably O2 sensor or Cat - when I had my Mustang , we had MIL eliminators which trick the O2 sensor into thinking the Cat was ok when in fact it was removed, Don't know if these exist for the Boxster

put a scan tool on it and look at the 02 data

Thanks guys. I've been getting O2 sensor warnings. So that's probably it.
