In the last year, how much $ have you spent?

on repairs only (not customization)

I was going to say $0. But it was $165.

I had been doing 2 oil changes a year plus all kinds of PM. But this year I have been riding the bike so much I didn't even put 7500 miles on it. And the AOS was more than a year ago

So the only money I have put into it in a year is the push rods for the top. I was in a hurry and the latch caught the lip when the top was opening and the force of the motor snapped both ball cups (intended failure point). It was wet out and I just wanted it fixed so I went over to the local dealer and got the parts right there. I had it fixed within a day so I justified the extra money of getting it at the stealership.

Now thats not to say that I have $$ in needed work. I need a new water pump (age only, still works fine), coolant flush, motor mount, brake rotors, pads, passenger mud guard thingy and an alignment. Good winter projects I think.

Repairs, about $1500. Includes new top (a want, not a need), 1 drop link, and a section of clutch line

Maintenance, about $1800. Includes new tires, all the filters, plugs and tubes

Upgrades, about $2500. Includes new seats, steering wheel, shifter, cupholders

Insurance deductible, $500. A parking lot incident of which we do not speak

Driving it, priceless

Oil change materials $100. CEL for secondary air came on but hasn't been back since cancelled a month ago.

Just more than a year ago, AC compressor changed out on extended warranty. $1800 job cost me $250.

Extended warranty expires soon. Hmm

Next year will need: coolant change, probably front motor mount, and possibly water pump as preventative measure. I see doing them all myself. If I have the money I might also drive down to Atlanta and see a man called Jake about an IMS bearing.

MY01 90,000 km

Maintenance and repairs? A lot. My car sees a lot of track duty and it is near 90k miles so I pretty much went through everything.

RF radiator and fresh coolant- $265
respray nose paint- $250
1 set pads and rotors (all 4) $1000
2- oil changes $250
2- Fresh brake fluid (Motul high temp) $200
3- sets track tires $2400
1- set spark plugs/coil packs ?
1- fresh trans fluid ?
1- fresh clutch fluid ?
1- fresh PS fluid ?
2 air filter element $50
2- cabin filter $50

Maybe $5000 last year total. I did some of the work myself and some was done by my trusted indy Porsche mechanic. Last year was very rare. Before this I really just changed the oil, filters and brake fluid for 4 years.

No repair work at all, but I only put about 2k+ miles on it in a year and the car's total is only a little over 20k now.

Next year, I will do a service, but those are not too bad at all...

Can't say the same for customization though....:-)) I've just about got it where I want it.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but where are you going for your alignment? New '03 owner here and the cars pulls to the right. I'm assuming we don't take these cars to the local chains for their $59 alignment specials.

Who cares...this is a GUY toy. If your wife complains, open her closet and point out all the clothes and shoes she has. Thanks about 50 to 1 to what we have in our part or some part of the house.......

Customization $$$ spent in last 12 mo:
