crackling sound

I recently purchased a used porsche boxster 2001 85kmile , I use it to work everyday and everytime I park the car, I hear a metal crackling sound for some time and then it dies down

Any idea what it is ?

From the rear of the car? Hot exhaust contracting as it cools down?

Generally it come from the catalytic converter as it cools down. :cheers:

exhaust components cooling and contracting....they all do it
