Tear of Joy

 Just clean my MAF sensor and the power that had been lost at about 5 grand is back, smooth power all the way up to redline, so sweet

Did you have a CEL?

livin_in_a_boxster 08-16-2010 05:43 AM

Yes 1130, I cleared it a couple of times, before I finally cleaned the MAF,

I did mine this weekend too. I was getting the P1128 and P1130 CELs. About 52,000 miles on the car. The MAF was very clearly dirty when I removed it. Cleaned up nice though. I did not notice any performance difference, but hopefully it will at least run smoother.

1128 that was the other code I was getting too, could not remember the number till you posted it, mine has 82k on it. cleaned the engine too while I had the engine hatch open.

well the codes have come back and there is hesitation down in the lower rpm range, seems like it is time for a new MAF,, what place has the best price???

Burg Boxster 09-20-2010 08:47 AM

usually www.************************************************************ but also check w/ suncoast or sunset porsche as sometimes they will run specials.

Try re-cleaning MAF, while also replacing air filter [use stock paper filter], and cleaning out air intake ducts as far as you can. Worked for me, 5,000 miles so far.

Put the new MAF in and went on an 1836 mile road trip and it ran great!
