What I want to see next is a youtube video of this monster on a track from all perspectives. Drive by's, in-car cam, and from the back from a standing start!

Great work. I sure wish I had a shop and the cash to do something with my boxster on a scale like this. It's really impressive work.

I do hope you'll offer Subaru conversions for customers at some point in the future.

Very impressive! The project has come a long way since its inception. Your fabrication skills are outstanding.
( the view from the rear reminds me of Barbara Streisand for some reason...)

Sweet mother of God!

Amazing work. I'm looking forward to your testing and ..... eventually your "street" version ideas. Hopefully they will be able to work with the topless nature of the Boxster.

Very nice work!
Can't wait for the final product!

kcpaz 08-01-2011 01:46 PM

I've been working on the final assembly lately. It's basically down to some fluid plumbing (accusump, oil coolers, scavange pump etc) and finishing up the chassis harness and then I should be able to try and fire the motor. The air jacks work though...

That is a art!

RandallNeighbour 08-01-2011 03:19 PM

So the air jacks are built right into the subframe, huh?

That's slicker than snot on a doorknob. I had no idea they even existed!

I gotta put that down as a wish-list item for a future mod!!!

Pat 08-01-2011 04:09 PM

WOW.

Just........WOW.

No, the air-jack tubes are welded into the chassis itself.

Amazing work. WOW. This gives me a idea for a 986 that needs an engine.

gmboxster 09-10-2011 12:03 PM

That is fantastic work !!! I wish i had your 'know how'.

onaFLYer 09-17-2011 09:55 AM

interesting build here, curious if you have it running now? Audio clip?

kcpaz 09-17-2011 05:55 PM

Finishing up the wiring. Decided to build a new chassis harness from scratch to save weight and simplify things. I'll update with more pictures soon.

Wiring is DONE! Other than the ABS system, the chassis harness was built from scratch. The engine management is stock from the 2007 WRX donor and fit in the stock Boxster location using all stock mounting points. We were even able to use the stock Porsche ECU mounting studs with the stock Subaru ECU and relays. Everything powers up and the engine cranks. Still need to plumb the oil system, fuel system, and cooling system, but then we should be able to fire it up and get it on the dyno for some tuning.
