I was just driving home and thinking about making a post like that in a couple month.
Im almost at 98k.

My 97 just turned 81,000 very reliable and trouble free miles (except for the water pump I just replaced last weekend $165 reman pump). Looking forward to 100,000 and beyond.

RandallNeighbour 08-06-2010 04:16 AM

Very cool! I have a shot like that too on my 97. Congrats!

jmatta 08-06-2010 04:20 AM

I have 82,000 to go on my '02 S, to reach that milestone...better start driving more!

landrovered 08-06-2010 04:32 AM

Congrats, mine turned 100k two weeks ago and I got lucky and was able to time it for a long desolate stretch of highway where I was the only car. It clicked over while I was going 100 mph (103 actually) but a picture was out of the question.

I thought that was the most fitting tribute to Porsche 100 at 100k.

boxster7614 08-06-2010 06:09 AM

Glad to hear i'm not the only high mileage boxster!

Good to see - gives me hope for my '97 with its original engine on 78k.

I'd love to know some actual numbers on engine longevity - for instance, if an engine makes it to 60 or 70k, does that really mean it's passed through some kind of critical danger zone. Obviously these things can grenade at any mileage, but I bet there would be some interesting trends if we had access to the real numbers.

68K and closing on the 100K mark. Live To Drive.

02box 08-06-2010 11:17 AM

cool! I bought my 02 12 months ago with 52,000 and I just turned 80,000. I do 100 mile round trip 5 days a week and I drive the box everyday. won't be long till the 100,000 mark. seems like the more I drive it the better it does. congrats...

Brucelee 08-06-2010 11:58 AM

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

j.fro 08-06-2010 04:03 PM

the Boxster is definitely built to be driven!
I wonder what the ratio of failures to 100,000 mile cars is...bet it's favorable
BTW, I'm at 133,000 and going.
AX every weekend for the next three Woo-hoo!

9eighty6 08-06-2010 04:18 PM

tnoice 08-23-2010 11:15 AM

Congrats!! I hope to make it there someday, and I only have 77,460 Miles to go!

Gougoushu 08-24-2010 05:27 AM

The speedometer reads about 8% high (e.g., speedometer reads 60 mph while gps says I'm really going 55). I guess the odometer uses the same information and is also about 8% exaggerated. I get this degree of error comparing trip odometer read-outs to google map calculations of the same routes.

So while the odometer reads 100,000, I reckon the car has travelled only about 92,000 miles! I'll have to take another photo at 108,000...
