Who has PCM ???

One of the reasons I ordered my car was to Get PCM so I ordered an 03 black/black and added PCM, Digital Sound, Heated Seats, Xenon Lights, Windstop.

Also got a FREE hardtop - yes free - from Porsche NA because my stereo died the 2nd day I had the car and the Nav was buggy.

ANyway I never see PCM on the dealer lots in Boxsters so I thought I would ask if anyone else has it ????

Thanks

Charles

Do you like it? I am thinking of getting it on Ebay to go into my 04. How much do you think it would it cost for the labor?

Love it

I love it - it integrates everything and has a much more sophistaicated radio tuner and trip computer.

No idea for labor - can it be installed easily if it was not equipped that way. How much are they going for on ebay ?

Thanks

Well this is my first post on this board. I have been lurking here for a while because I am considering buying a Boxster in the near future. OK now to add to this thread.

http://www.realtime.net/~rentner/Porsche/LefterisPCM/PCM.html

I found this the other day while browsing other websites and forums.
This is a detailed, with pictures, install of the PCM in a non factory PCM car.

Doesn't look like its that hard.

Peter Joyce, if you decide to do this, let us know if the website I posted helps.

ckreling, one of the things that I will be looking for, is a car with the PCM in it.
I hear its pretty rare, but my current car doesn't have it. Most of the guys I know
with the same car, 01 Acura 3.2 CL Type S, have it. I dont know what I was
thinking when I DIDN'T get it. My next car will have it.
 my first post!!!

Arrow Install Link is for PCM I

Just be advised that the instructions are for the PCM I unit that has a built in tape drive and needs an external CD drive for the maps.

The PCM II uses the internal CD drive for both Maps & Music CDs and has the ability to show maps even when playing a music CD.

Cables and others stuff I am sure are different.

These are my opinions only from having a 2003 Boxster with PCM II and I know it uses the lastest data bus and fiber optics.
