Squeaking from behind when starting
 

Sometimes when I start my Boxster, maybe every 5th to 7th start, I hear a loud squeaking noise from behind me. Not sure if it is the engine or maybe a belt? Any ideas what this may be or what I can try to do it fix it on my own?

If it lasts for just a split second and sounds like someone stepped on a cat, it is usually the starter. I replaced my starter 2 years ago on my '99.
Fairly easy DIY. I bought a used one on eBay and no squeal since then.
