Exclamation Top Problems

Agh! At the beach yesterday, I went to put the top down, and the clamshell made about half way up and stopped. I could hear a grinding noise coming from what I think to be the motor. And so, does anyone have any directions w/pictures for removing the clamshell and replacing the motor or whatever it is that drives the top? Help!

I had a simliar problem and it was the top transmission. Cost about $700 at the dealer but was covered under warranty. Luckily the top made it all the way down just the clamshell wouldn't close.
