Muffler Application

I am in need of a replacement OEM muffler for my 2004 non-S Boxster. My question is what year mufflers is a direct replacement for my car. I am not picky about whether it is an S or non-S version or if it has the removable tip, just need something that is an exact fit.

I have found many mufflers for sale but they specify different years and I need to know if it matters as far a fit and function.

Not interested in an aftermarket as the extra noise is the problem. I modified the one I have with the drilled holes and while I think it sounds great, the wife is not so much impressed. Best thing for me is to go back to stock (bummer).

Thanks for any information/advice that can be provided.

Any muffler from any 986 will fit, but depending on the particular model year you may need a hanging adapter, or just make one out of a 3/8" stainless or aluminum rod.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Pedro is indeed modest at heart (he's been so nice to me!) but he's also being very smart. BruceLee doesn't allow vendors to hawk their wares in the threads if they're not paid advertisers, and even then it's not tolerated much.

But we sure can hawk his wares for him!

Do visit http://www.pedrosgarage.com for this piece plus a bunch of other great stuff especially made for boxsters and tested by a boxster owner.
