Why would you put a Ruf badge on your car, unless it was really a Ruf? Would be like putting an M badge on a regular BMW. Tacky, no?

I've seen an R8 badge on an Audi A5. I had to chuckle.

I guess whoever buys it also wears a fake rolex and his gf/wife has enhancement in the chest area.

Not hating but that's usually how they roll...

It's an unnecessary modification IMO. Plus it hurts if they hit your face.

The problem I see with adding Ruf badges to a "non Ruf" Porsche are twofold,

1, needing to explain to car fanatics asking about your Ruf, that your boxster is not actually a genuine Ruf Boxster but a standard Boxster with Ruf badges bought from ebay.

2, Explaining to the person that asks you "what is a Ruf" that RUF Automobile GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer, and RUFs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis. When a chassis arrives, RUF builds their own independent work into the car. Because RUF installs many of their own-made parts, the company is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government and that is why they are badged as Ruf, but that yours is a standard Boxster with Ruf badges bought from ebay.

It could get a bit embarrassing.

Not a hater just not for me

hmm this coming from someone with modlist as "carrera lights" why if you dont have a carrera, why do people put GT3 bumpers on if you dont have a GT3.. you get my point...

also just to clear it up, RUF do a ruf conversion not just a full build.
they also do boxsters and offer a nice white 987.
they do manufacture cars but as above they still do a ruf conversion which has many performance upgrades,..

Those Carrera Lightweight wheels on Ekam's ride were standard options on all 2003/2004 model yr Boxsters, so he's not posing by putting those wheels on. Putting a Ruf badge when you don't have any Ruf mods at all, is.

putting a different bumper on is much different than a RUF badge. Just because I think Ferrari are cool doesn't mean I should put a Ferrari badge on my hood. his lights are stock for a 03-04 model year and a GT3 STYLE bumper doesnt say you have a gt3 because it insn't the same. its just similar. moreover the bumpers and body parts can enhance the aerodynamics of a car. being in of itself a performance modification. whereas a RUF badge has only one purpose... to say that the vehicle attached to it is a RUF.
