roof won't close

Well, I've made some progress, if you can call it that. I was able to remove the cable from the assembly by pushing a very tiny, narrow, thin screwdriver into the tab. Then I reflowed the solder on the metal strips and put it back together. After testing it is still intermittent.

The fuses already checked out fine. So now I'm looking at the relays. Maybe the microswitch really should be replaced instead of only reflowed. Still not there, but at least I've got the top latched so I can drive it to work tomorrow.

Cheers.

roof won't close...where to buy new "clips"?

Hello Log,

Thanks much for the link to the microswitch.

One more problem. While reconnecting the rods between motor and top links, I realized I'd cracked the clips which hold these rods to the links. I must have cracked them when disconnecting or reattaching them. I had to disconnect them so I could manually get the top down when the electrical method didn't work.

Anybody know where to get these clips?

Photo attached to help understand what I'm talking about.

Thanks again.

Fanderso:

That part number, called a "lock" or locking clip, is 999 166 075 02.

You can get it at your local dealer, or order it on the phone or online at Pelican Parts, Sunset Porsche (Portland, OR) at http://www.****************************************************.com/porsche/
or Suncoast Porsche (FL). The online dealers are usually much cheaper.

Regards, Maurice.
