Porsche non-911s...
Am I the only one that are fascinated by the "other cars" from Porsche? I'm not disliking the 911 either.
928... Risky Business and Scarface. 944... 50/50 weight balance... crazy (& affordable) track cars. 356 Speedster/550 Spyder... nuff said! |
You are not alone. My previous car was a 2006 Cayenne that I got brand new. Sure it had its issues like any other Porsche (thank Lord it was under warranty) but it was in many ways an awesome car. Perfect for winter and amazing in snow, especially with snow tires. :D
Now the family really got into Porsches so I can see a couple more on the driveway in the years to come once my kids start driving (pretty soon actually). Time flies! And flies faster in a Porsche. CR |
my dream cars are as follows:
(no particular order) 959 968 Turbo S carrera GT GT1 StrassenVersion 928GTS 550 spyder 356C (or a or b or split window) coupe (or cab) h  and the Lamborghini Countach  |
Dream lists?
Studio Torino RK Spyder (or anything else they breathed on) 911 GT3 RS Ferrari F430 Scuderia Lamborghini Murcielago Saleen S7 McLaren F1 |
The interesting thing for me is that I was never a fan of the 911. The thing that made me first say "uuuuu a Porsche" were the futuristic 928 and 944. Well futuristc at the time. Little did I realize at the time these cars were considered the ugly step children. Later on I thought the GT1 was also a great forward looking design. Growing up a good friend of mine inherited a VW Beetle and man I really didn't care for that car. I didn't like the sound, the goofy looks and the Disney movie thing didn't help. The Beetle and Carrera having anything in common, like those headlights, didn't really endear me to it. I'm only now starting to warm up to the 997's round lights.

I have a 944 race car and I foresee a Cayenne in my future some day. But also possibly a 993 or 964 as well.
Its not a crime to enjoy more than just Boxsters. Porsche has produced some great cars over the years. |
I have always wanted a 928, preferably the GTS. With their current prices it's very tempting.
