He said his key head does not work and since it was raining so he didn't stop and lock it manually. I'm curious can the insurance company refuse to pay or something if you tell them it was unlocked?

Be careful what you tell your insurance because I think there was a valid point there.

Sorry to hear about the vandals. People do things for a myriad of irrational reasons, I've found it is best not to get caught up in asking why idiots act idiotically or escalate things, but to keep moving forward positively. You'll graduate school and buy your second Porsche soon enough... hopefully the next one won't have a high school parking sticker on it.
Also...
An older Porsche with a "falling apart" motor that needs replaced sat unlocked in the middle of the night 6 houses down from your's and got vandalized to the point it may be a total loss while the one item of real value was removed.
This, at face value, will raise some serious red flags with the insurance company. You're in a tough situation here, hopefully everything works out for you.
Sometimes instead of a total loss check, the insurance will offer a smaller check and allow you to keep possession of the vehicle. Maybe don't fix the interior and put all that cash in an engine rebuild?
EDIT: Thought I should mention some wholly unsolicited thoughts on this: things that seem really difficult financially will dissipate largely once you begin your career and have real paychecks rolling in. It might be best not to fret over the financials of owning a Porsche when you're in college as it may require some sacrifices and measures that just aren't worth it.

Whatever was stolen out of your car id check the internet to see if anyone is selling your stuff. Ebay, craigs list, kijiji or whatever local forms of advertisements you have. If you find it, then set up a date, time, hidden location and just give him the worst beating possible.

The insurance adjuster just left and he quoted $11,525 just for the interior in parts before tax and labor.
That alone is more than what they state the value of the car is, $10.5
Then the $3400 in stereo equipment, and labor/tax on the rest of the interior.... and he estimated over $5k in labor for a total in the neighborhood of $21.5-22.5k
So it looks like they are going to total the car. I might buy it back depending on what they ask because of my attachment... I just dont know. I'm waiting to hear from them .

Take the $ and move on to a new Boxster and a fresh start. Keeping the old car around is just going to eat at you.

Forget about the interior, take that $15-20k and ship the thing to Raby and tell him you want nothing but performance.

You could buy it back and save some money by:
- getting seat covers
- Gluing together the dashboard leather
- Buying salvaged speaker covers
- Replacing the top and door covers
It'd be rather cheap and would allow you to upgrade to the glass rear window.
My main worry is always the engine.
