Optimum Tire Pressure
I have a 97 base with 16 inch wheels and I just had installed all-season z [w] rated Kumho's. The installer put 35 lbs all around stating that it provided the best balance between ride, comfort, and handling. The manual calls for something like 36 lbs in the rear and 30 lbs or so up front.
Should I go by the manual or is the installer's information more up to date, particularly considering my choice of an ultra high performance all-season tire? Thanks! Bradster |
The installer doesn't know Porsche
handling influencers.
Start with the 30/36 and vary in increments of no more than 2 PSI to see how you like it. I've had 4 brands/models of tires and find I like my tires 2 PSI harder all around than factory recommendations but you may fine the factory 30/36 just fine. |
Go with owner's manual recommendations.
In my experience, installers don't have specific knowledge about specific makes/models. |
Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback! Out with the air in the front.
