Alarmed
My car does does not have keyless entry or an alarm. When I purchased the car used it only had one non remote key available. The dealer quoted me $2k to add on the factory system. I recently discovered that I have the theft control unit module under my driver's seat. Any opinions on how I find out if I have the other components?

That is it...your chip in the remote may be bad, the battery in the remote may be bad and worst of all the ACU may be bad, which means new unit plus a set of keys to match. The unit can be purchased at Pelican Parts (OEM Porsche Part) for $412.50 plus shipping then the keys would come from your Porsche dealership, average price about $200. First, I would have Porsche check the unit, it maybe something not so expensive.

Thanks. I'll check with the dealer.
Sorry about the typo too. (Non remote key intended...not "none" remote key.) :) |
If you realy want to know what thew car has from the factory, look on the inside of the frunk at the options label (I think its in the front). All the options codes should be on it. Then go to Renntech to find out what you have.

i have picked up uncoded new keys on ebay for 45$ each.
you can have the blank key cut to work on your car, dealer can program the head for you. should not be much unless the computer unit is bad. even then replacement is about 400$. |
