"loose change" rattle, I need an explanation
Hi,
I have this annoying "loose change" rattle in my car. I found a post on 986faq that explains a possible solution http://www.986faq.com/10-0/problems.asp#017 Prblem is I cannot find "the bolt on top of the ball joint", I spent almost an hour looking for it.. and I must be doing something wrong. Can someone please explain me what to look for? A picture maybe? Thanks Sasha |
check this thread too:

The Boxster cabin is small so it's hard to always accurately tell where sounds are truly originating. with the car off, try rapping moderately on the side of the center console. If you hear the loose change sound then, you most likely have some coinage stuck in there. Search for center console removal or short shifter install on how to take out/raise the center console to dislodge. Good luck :) |

Check the bolts that hold the muffler to the back of the transmission. Mine are broken off on my '98, and they make a loose change type of jingle at low rpms when taking off from a stop. BC. |
I have determined my loose change noise is the DS push arm for the convertible top. I only hear the rattle with the top up and felling under the convertible mechanism, I feel a loose bracket. Hoping today to get a better look. I will be taking picture as I get to the problem.
