Shifter Knob Replacement question

I have a question about shifter knob..

Can it be done easily?.. deep in my noob mind I think it should be unscrew old one and screw in new one... right?

Also can I fit in 987 TIP knob on my 986 Manual?
I really like the looks of this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360244300360&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4=263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=a9f153ff1230a026821572b5fff32394&rvr_id=&ua=%3F*I7&itemid=360244300360

Can it be done?

Thanks
Sasha
