2010 box S w/ 9K discount help!!!
I randomly walked into the dealer yesterday to testdrive some boxster s pre-owned examples, and saw the 9k discount on s models. can someone tell me what do 2010 boxster s normally go under MSRP without the 9k discount? 1K, 2K, 3K under MSRP? or they sell at invoice? could I negociate this "normal" discount on top of the factory 9K discount?
I'm seriously considering picking up a new one instead of the preowned 2006 model I was looking at. it comes down to paying 34-37K for a good pre-owned 2006 S or in the low 50K's for a new 2010 S model. I'm new to porsches and need to make up my mind before march 31 (when the 9K discount expires). oh, and they also have 2.9 % financing.... please help. thanks!!! |
New, base model is around the $50K mark and they can go as high as $90K with options. Me, and I love my Boxster, but I would really consider a Cayman. Some really good deals all over the country for both. Check ebay and craigslist. Saw an 2007S Cayman on ebay for around $36K. Happy huntin...

thanks. so by "base" you mean non-s model? the s model has an msrp of 58K, and as commonly optioned about 64-66K. how much under msrp do new box s normally go for?
thanks much. |
My LE stickered for $66 and I bought it on 12/31/07 for $58. That's $8K off msrp and mine is a bit rare as it's #5 of 250. Plus that was before the economy tanked. I'd say you've got room to deal on the 2010 beside their discount. Offer them another $5K off. What can they say, no? If they don't want to deal, walk away. Chances are that car isn't going anywhere and they'll want to play ball.
While I don't know that I'd agree with JCB about getting a Cayman, there are some cracker deals on 07 & 08 Box Ss out there. With a little hunting and a willingness to travel, you could probably find one in the same price range as the 06S you're looking at. For example, there's an red 07S at a dealer in Indy with 18K mi for $37. Either way, you'll enjoy owning a Boxster. |
thank you. that was very helpful. you are right... i'll offer 14K under MSRP and see what happens. I'll also remain on the lookout for good used examples.
