boxster spec shut down.

So I just wanted everyone to know that we lost a great site for boxsters today. boxsterspec.com its unfortunate but I guess that is what happens when you cant get the respect owed to you on your own site.

im not here to take sides in the matter on who was right and who was wrong. but at the end of the day everyone loses out. especially those who like learning from the experience of others. :(

OMG, WTF did I miss?

eclou 03-24-2010 06:57 PM

what happened? I just talked to Brad yesterday!

Lobo1186 03-24-2010 07:07 PM

there was some arguments with people on the board with his business and he had enough.

BudmanV24 03-24-2010 07:24 PM

What a shame. I tried going on there yesterday to read up on the ls1 swap and the site was acting weird and I couldn't get to page 1. I guess maybe that is why.

Lobo1186 03-24-2010 07:31 PM

ya the two i dont think are related. but i had noticed that two. the LS1 install was a big point of interest for me. im still pretty excited about that.

Similar happening when 914Club and 914World split.

blinkwatt 03-26-2010 02:22 PM

Can someone give details?

Lobo1186 03-26-2010 05:20 PM

well there was some serious unprofessional conduct on the board concerning his business which IMHO was regardless of the circumstances uncalled for and so he shut down the site

Sputter 03-26-2010 05:45 PM

That's a shame, I always found Brad chock full of good information.

Topless 03-26-2010 06:02 PM

It's true. I talked to Brad today. He is opening a new shop, has his online parts business, Grand Am team involvement, and working with Joe Schmoes like us, he was just spreading himself way too thin. If something fell through the cracks people got pretty ugly online. Nobody needs to live with that. He is shedding all the things that require lots of his time but return little or nothing. Boxsterspec.com was one of them.

I totally understand Brad wanting to simplify his life a bit. It is a shame though. While 986forum is the best general ownership Boxster site, Boxsterspec.com was by far the best "no bull" site for Spec racing. Perhaps the database and domain name will become available at some point. A lot of valuable knowledge is buried in there that can be found nowhere else.

Peace Brad. Wishing you well my friend.

blinkwatt 03-26-2010 08:01 PM

So Brad is done entirely with Boxsters????

Lobo1186 03-26-2010 09:47 PM

no he still is doing his thing but he is just getting rid of some things that take too much of his time like his boxsterspec site.

boardertj 03-29-2010 04:03 PM

Hopefully brad keeps us updated on the ls1 swap. there is another thread following the build on 914club. maybe he'll continue to post there.

demick 03-29-2010 05:23 PM

Except that he has sold 914club.com, and is down while transitioning to it's new owners. Somhow I doubt he'll post Boxster stuff on a 914 site that he is no longer affiliated with.
