? what front bumper is this?
On page 93 of the April '10 issue of Excellence there starts a great article on a 3.4 conversion to a '98 Boxster. Two things beyond the obvious power increase is the high shine on the paint and that front bumper. I have never seen one like this with what looks to be two built in canards or spoilers on both corners. Looks like a nice replacement if one was to add a center radiator. Does anybuddy know where this item is mfg. and what the price might be? Thanks in advance and my local area of the globe is starting to warm so I suspect I will be on the road again in the Boxcar.

That is an OEM aerokit 1 front bumper. Here's a pic of it along with the aero 1 skirts:

Thanks BB
Since it is original equipment it will probably run around $1,500.00 before paint. Sure is a nice variation on the theme. Got to get together with you at some event. Maybe a bunch of us could meet some Sun (weather permitting) at the Mt. Brauhaus outside of New Paltz. Nice drive up there and good German food and brew.

As most of us know, the aero kit I was later replaced by the aero kit II. The side skirts from the aero kit I are still available from Porsche, however, I believe that the front bumper has since been discontinued.

@ AK, yep- can't wait till it warms up, and we get to really enjoy our cars again.
@ Danger, yep- just got my aero1 skirts painted, and waiting for Spring to arrive so that I can mount em. Just gotta figure out which front bumper to get now. :) http://i45.tinypic.com/166awl0.jpg |
If anyone has this issue of Excellence and wouldn't mind scanning it so I could read it, my email address is randall (at) touchusa (dot) org.
Thanks! |
