Amazing the time and dedication some people put into their creations. If only we could all have such passion.

Thanks for the links, I love looking at that kind of stuff.
He're a video of a guy running his home-built rotary radial engine. He also built an RC plane for the engine and flew it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A16EW19oR6k The earliest airplane engines like that operated on a total loss oiling system, and used castor oil. The pilot ended up ingesting a fair amount of it from the blowback. I would guess those guys couldn't go flying everyday... had to stay close to the outhouse for a while!! :D |
Cool but scary, that guy could lose an arm in a hurry!
|
How about putting that on a micro-lite??
|
I love that Ferrari 312. I found this linked on one of those videos. Cool airplane, and the model radials even sound right.

Cool video..Well never found this video before..
Good job of sharing this one..Keep sharing. |
I actually knew one of the guys that built an engine featured in the craftmanshipmuseum link. We built radio controled cars back in the late 60's when there was no such thing in the stores. He ran a hobby shop in Kent, WA for a number of years. We both made 1/8th scale Ford Mk IV GT's from stratch and raced them. I used to be a model maker at the Boeing wind tunnel so making a car from pictures and drawings was right down my alley.
