When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

Porschekid, are you writing in English, or what the hell is that?
Of course, my comprehension of young people's slang pretty much ended with "far out".

Sorry, I was writing in internet slang... I do that from time to time. Basically just spelling things horribly on purpose.

That is Alex's 2001 turbo. On a local work on cars day we had to get one of the Boxster gals to help him change the oil on his car.

I and a few other Boxster owners went on this drive last year. It was a fun local drive.

No I haven't added all the Boxsters in yet and I DO hope there are plenty of 'em like last time!

Yeps.. and also in European Car last year... Sadly this year I only had one turbo and a blown MAF (hence no ABS).

I was looking at my Autocross classifications for PCA here in New Jersey and noticed that the standard 996 Turbo has been bumped down from the GT2 and GT3 presumably due to turbo Lag (although I wish they had done that for all those STI's in my Boxster S class).
What's your take on throttle response vs. GT2 and GT3?

p.s. I REALLY wish Porsche had used those 996 TT headlights in the new Boxster instead of using the Japanese look 997 lights.

Not to defend the 996 Turbo but I have say that can't be the reason. The GT2 suffers from lag way worse than the standard turbo. I hate K24s... they truly suck. You can get almost as much power from K16s as K24s anyways. The other thing to do is to use hybrid turbos with K16 hot sides for quick spool.

So my take on those three are in stock form:

GT2 lags the most, TT lags less and the GT3 (having the same motor) has an initial bite (most responsive) but none of the top end. In an AutoX with any of those cars however you can always rev match
