Digital portion of speedo intermittent
 

Whatever is wrong with it is something loose because a rap on the plastic restores the correct operation. So then the question is is dis assembly easy or should I just tap the glass every now and then?

Disassembly is not difficult. Might be a loose bulb.

Thanks Randall, he mentions a bulb, I'm not convinced the digital display is illuminated by a bulb, maybe the backlight but not the digits. I'm wondering if this problem is akin to the "off" display on the temp controls that frequently loses part of it's grid. Hence my wondering whether taking it apart will help at all or present a way to fortify the connection. What I was looking for was actually taking out the cluster, I'll scope it out in Bentley. I'm still up to my ass in Fiat 124, working on the rear brake compensator and the rear bearing carrier rebuilds.
