2003 s 3.6 996 conversion?????

I am thinking about converting my 03 s to a 3.6 996. What is involved with the conversion? Is it worth it or do I keep looking for a replacement 3.2l?

Is the original 3.2 blown?

I'll sell you my 3.6 2001 S for 19K. Itll cost you about 19K just to put one in ;)

03/04 cars are almost plug and play. You already have the 7.8 DME, you just need to run the additional 4 wires for the VarioCam Plus solenoids and re-flash the DME with 3.6 programming. The rest is "normal" stuff like headers, intake, exhaust, beefier clutch, lowering the engine (or using the X51 intake manifolds), etc.

If you are saying the motor doesn't need to be lowered if the x51 intake is used, tell me more!

If you read his other posts you'll see he bought the car from his neighbor(?) with the engine already blown.

Thanks guys for your help in this decision. The original engine does not rotate. The dealer simply said IMS failure. Without tearing the engine apart I dont know how they can say that. So, it leaves me with the decision of going for it all or having the engine truely diagnosed. what to do? I already have the engine out of the car. I just need to make decide what i want to do...
