What is included in a replacement engine?

My 2001 S had a new replacement engine from Porsche 30 Kmi ago, dealer-installed.

I am wondering how complete these replacement engines are. I know they come with all the accessories, like p/s pump, a/c compressor etc. Do they also come with new exhaust manifolds? Cats? Muffler? O2 sensors?

Why am I asking? It would be interesting to know if my cats and O2 sensors are 30 Kmi old, or 106 Kmi old...

Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer to your question, but what was the circumstance of your engine failure? IMS, D chunk? And Porsche replaced your engine at 76k miles?

I'm not sure how Porsche handles it, but typically replacement engines come in two forms: short and long blocks. I'll steal the descriptions from another website:

Short block = the engine block without the head (block casting, pistons, rods, crank, etc.)
Long block = the complete engine, including the head (engine from valve cover to oil pan)

Neither would include the exhaust manifold, pre-cats, cats, etc as far as I know.

Mine came with "all the trimmings"
water pump, alternator, headers (incl. primary cats), O2 sensors, throttle body, spark plugs, and it was even filled with oil

What's not included is
secondary cats and muffler, serpentine belt

It happened under the PO's watch; not entirely sure about the cause, but suspect IMS. Porsche paid half.
