Angry Porsche RIPPING ME OFF

Hi all,
Four months ago my 986 had a problem with the window relay that makes the window come down 2cm when you open the door so as to clear the pillar. This function stopped all 2gether & I had it fixed at porsche. Two months ago it stopped working entirely for 2 hours, began to work again however coming down 1cm instead of the 2cm it should. Although I CAN open & close the door, the window is so close to the pillar that the rubber seal is ripping. I took this back to porsche & they have booked it in to have a check but claim it could be the window regulator (not their new parts fault) so I'd pay if this is the case.
My question: Are they lying that the regulator may be at fault? The window functions fine! The Relay they changed should be the device telling the regulator to go down 2cm. They are claiming the regulator also has a memory in it & if the regulator is at fault then they are not liable to fix the problem (I have to pay).
Am I being fooled?

Thankyou
Dean
