986 emblem placement to the side?

I have a biarritz white 986 and am thinking about removing the silver "Boxster" emblem and putting on a black "986".

I've read the official renntech - Boxster Logo Placement post but considering putting it to the side rather than the middle. I'd put it in the lower right (or left) corner of the lid with a 40mm space below and on the side.

Would that look really bad? I've messed with a photo in an image editor and not sure if it would be right.

I've searched around the various forums and seems that we're either de-badged or center badged. Is a side badge verboten?

sorta like this (yea, I know wrong font). btw, that's my car but not my house. it's the only pic I could locate that showed a straight back shot.

It's original and different but not for me. I personally like things symmetric and centered but if it works for you, try it. The worst that could happen is you take it off again.

I think the logo on the side would look crooked whether you're looking from a distance or right up by the car. If you like it off center, how about lower to either side of the bumperettes?

I agree with JTP. Not for me. I like the Boxster across the back.
Personal opinion.

You know that there is no 986 logo...

... you have to purchase the 968 logo and move the digits around.

This was one of my very first hacks, back in 1998.
But I kept it centered:

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

I need to remove my boxster emblem for painting in February. What do the "968" emblems cost?

I've seen them around at a handful of places, usually about $25.

I like the off-center location. But I am an architect. The way I drive is not symmetric!

You wouldn't like my -6!

Or my old 912.
