987 Bose system fault
 

My 2005 987 Bose system turns itself on and off continually - the CD player work on cold start but stops when the car is driven away. The radio now does not work at all. There is a prominent clicking sound between/behind the seats as the unit's display shows the Porsche name then goes blank. Any ideas? Could be a loose connection problem perhaps? Local authorised dealersuggests replacement of CDR 24, but that sounds expensive. Thanks!
