How to install Radar detector on 987

Has anybody installed a radar detector on a 987? Since the cigarrete lighter is on the middle console, its kinda far to have the wire all the way there (it looks pretty bad). Has anybody been able to hide the cable somehow?

Thanks!

Hard wire it and hide the cord in and around the windshield seal and molding. I'd suggest a Bled Mount so it can hang under the rear view mirror but they haven't developed one for the Porsche yet. I have my detector mounted on a visor clip.

I have yet to hard wire mine, but there is a 12v socket under the pass side dash. That was the cable just wraps around. It looks much better in the mean time.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't know about the passenger 12volt socket, I will try that meanwhile, that was helpful!

I wired mine with a direct wire kit. It's a very clean look and you barely notice there's a detector mounted.
Also, I removed the suction cups from the mount and replaced them with industrial strength velcro. It's stable and works great. I'm going to experiment with the velcro that comes with the EZ Passes and see how they work. They seem to lock on better.
