opinions needed
 

Hey men, this winters project is the Fiat 124. I have recently discovered that the stock springs are not available anywhere. I had intended on changing them with the shocks, now there are new lowering spring kits but no stock units.

I'm thinking of changing just the 35 year old Koni yellows this year to see what that does. What I'm wondering is whether I should just get the lowering springs and do it all at once or take a chance and see what gas shocks do with the original springs.

Have you contacted any Fiat places in the UK. They imported more than we did. My last Fiat was a 1984 Pinafarania, it as a very nice car and fun to drive. Good luck. :cheers:

PS: I just remembered...I use to have a catalog from a place in Atlanta. I will look and let you know if I still have, of course it would be 25 years old.

Thanks, Bayless Racing and auto Atlanta (I think) merged, they don't have them either. My best parts source is International Auto Parts. I am not against lowering the car, however, correcting the suspension geometry would be a PIA!! I have the factory service manual, the adjustments are made with shims and the entire process looks like more than I want to attempt, frankly, you just helped me decide, it's going to be gas shocks first, spings later if needed...

a good spring shop should be able to make you a set if you can get ahold of some specs
