boxster misfiring

Hi my 1999 boxster is misfiring when you put the foot down, computer readout says misfiring number 3 cylinder, just had new plugs at service, could this be the coil ? If so how do I tell which cylinder is number 3 and is it an easy job to do. Thanks
Steven.

Have you tried swapping the #3 coil pack with another one to see if you still get a misfire on 3? This will either eliminate or point the finger at the coil pack. And yes, this is an easy job.

Sorry I'm not experienced enough to tell you off the top of my head which is #3, and I don't have ready access to my shop manual today. Someone else will surely chime in.

Front of car

#4 O O #1

#5 O O #2

#6 O O #3

Remove rear wheel, swap coil #3 with coil #2 and see if problem follows coil change.
