Rattle from top in the handle.. suggestions tofix?

i rarely drive with the top up...but lately it's been cold and I had it out with the top up... i was getting a ton of rattling.. I figured out what it was. there are two "handles" in teh top up near the windshield frame, just up under the sun visor. i assume these are there to help raise/lower the top if you did it manually..

the plastic insert on teh drivers side is loose..so on bumps, the plastic insert rattles around like crazy in the top. if i hold it, it's quiet as can be.

i noticed there is what looks like a "plug" int he handle...can this pop out and these things screw in or somehow attach? or shoudl I just hit it with a dab or glue or something along the seam to lock it down? just wondering.

i was afraid my car was just "getting old" and making rattles...but it's just this one thing. once i held it down,t eh car was sooo oquieet... it is amazingly rattle free for a 10 year old car... just gotta fix this one spot...
