Has anyone used these covers in leather, leatherette, or neoprene? Like 'em or hate 'em? Got a pic of them on Boxster seats?

I'm looking for a temporary solution to ratty seats until I can get them recovered properly.

I make it a point to never buy anything with " king" in it's name or in the store name. If the logo is augmented by a characture of a king with a crown, I run the other way really fast (grin).

Nothing temporary is going to look good, IMO, live with the blemishes and save your cash for the correct solution. Maybe you could snag a seat on Ebay, have to be a lot of these cars out of commission by now.

If you're into seat covers, here's one you can customize according to your taste and can also add seat heaters if you don't have the factory option. And they're made of waterproof neoprene.

In all seriouseness, a real seat cover is tied down to to the spring and structure of the seatframe all over the place, thats why the seams and bolsters are all to well defined and look stock. Most slipcovers I have seen here and elseware don't apear to have any such features so they look kinda like a marsh-mellow to me, no definition, obviously not O.E.M.

You can have individual pannels replaced on your real seats (not the entire seat cover) at a significant saveings if you play it right. of course new pannels will outlast the rest of the seat but you'll have origional seats.

Were I you (or me ) & looking to save a dime, I would remove your covers from the seat frame, dress down and take it to a hungry shop, tell'm it's out of your 89 Audi or somthing, Bet you can do alot better $ wise and keep an OEM look (even with all new pannels, do it in vinyle and save $400 in leather), than the cost of neoprene covers that look like...neoprene covers.

I totally hear you, PK2. My leather seats are actually ripped and worn through in spots and look sofa king bad. I'm going to get them re-done next winter, but I have to put up with covers for one summer. I just bought the car and there's a long list of upgrades and seats will have to wait their turn.

Auto upholsterers and leather must be wicked expensive in your part of the world. I got quotes from the best three local shops and they were alll in the $15-2000 range for both seats.

i paid $600 for a complete set 6pc's and its real leather only problem is there was a comunication problem with the seller and i got the wrong shade of blue(please dont say it i intend on dyeing it darker) and his pattern was off a bit on the bottom cussions (this will be taken to a local shop to fix) they are a bit baggy in the front corners lucky to be baggy and not short i will post pics tommorow http://www.bestleatherkits.com/index.html

I looked at GAHH. I think those are actually new skins that require the prior removal of the existing leather, as opposed to being slip-on covers. I also think that they require installation by someone that has some experience with auto upholstery. And yes, they do seem to be rather pricey, much like their replacement tops. They do make a very nice product, but I think I can get better bang for the buck.

I will take a closer look at dirtyg's covers when the pics are up. That might be an option.
