New RX8

I really like the design of the new Mazda RX8. Anyone know when this is coming to the US? Much nicer than the new Nissan Z350 or BMW Z4 in my opinion. Of course nothing (unless you start talking expensive exotics, then I could think of a few) is nicer than our very own Boxsters!

the rear door is kind of strange. Kind of like some American pick-up trucks (Chevy I believe has a similar door design).

I hope it is a better fit the the Nissan Z which is poorly made, in my opinion....

But, like you said, it is not a Boxster.

Doors

I guess they call those suicide doors. Not sure where that term came from though.

I think the term came from standing outside the door and the car rolling or moving. You would be knocked down by the doors since they are locked in place with you in front of them.

by the way, nice car. I really like it except for the narrow looking reara end.

suicide doors

The term suicide door came from the old drag racing days when most cars had these doors. Have you ever seen the old movies when two guys race their old cars to the end of a cliff, the winner was the one whom jumped out of the car last. Well the problem with these doors was that if you didn't jump far enough, it would push you over the edge with the car.

nice hugh?
