Is there a DIY fix or work-around to fix a floppy visor?

My drivers side visor will not stay up 100% and falls down about 1 inch, of course that is just enough in the way so I can not see.

New visor with a mirror is expensive.

Any ideas?

I agree with this, also i'd like to know where to get new ones, the plastic piece that covers the mirror broke off on both of my visors!

New covers here --- not too expensive.

You can repair the mirror cover if it becomes floppy, but if the visor itself doesn't stay up you will probably have to replace the entire visor. To fix the mirror cover, pop the plastic out of the visor and glue the metal clips back into place.

I recently had this same problem whereby my passenger side visor would not stay up. It seemed dangerous to me actually, because it hung at an angle whereby if your head moved forward fast, your forehead would push right into the leading edge of the visor.

I tried to repair the visor first, and pulled it off the rod, but realized that once the interior clamps go bad, there's no way to access them to fix it without tearing the visor up. I ended up buying a good set of used visors from a dismantler on eBay for about $120, and that took care of the problem.

I used to have a floppy visor, but the doc gave me some little blue pills and now my visor stays up all the time.

Visor is a metaphor, right? :D
