Doors will not unlock

I know that after a set period of time the car will not respond to the remote and you need to manually unlock the driver’s door. Unfortunately when I turn the key the doors do not unlock. The battery should be good and the security light on the dash is flashing. Any idea how I should unlock the car?

Locks.......

I think if you disconnect the battery for a minute it will "reset" everything and you can then, use your remote. I am not 100% sure, if someone can chime in and verify????

Also, if you do this, you will need to have the radio code handy.

I have the same problem - lock mechanism broken.

AAA came and opened it for me, but I wouldn't want to make a habit out of it in fear of damaging the top frame. They used an inflatable bladder to separate the window from the frame, then slipped in a 'hook' to pull the door handle.

If I don't drive it for a couple days, it stays in the garage with the window cracked enough for me to get my arm in & pull the handle from the inside, just in case.

locks

Thank you for the replies, it’s a 2002 boxster s. The windows were not working properly so I replaced the mechanism that the houses the sensors to the door handles. Could this locking issue be related to that replacement.

It seems that it is easy to disconnect the locking mechanism while the door panel is off if you aren't careful, so this may very well be the case.
