Interior Door Panel Finish

Gotta get replacement interior door panels due to damaged carpet. My panels have a textured finish. The '98 non-S Jake Raby loaned me while doing my IMS retrofit had door panels with a smooth finish.

Does anyone know in what year there was a change from the smooth to textured finish? Or is this an S versus non-S difference?

Do you have a picture of what part you are talking about?
I am not sure what exactly what part you mean, but plastic door panels were standard with leather was an optional upgrade. That may be the difference you are talking about.

The carpet's glued on and there's no easy way to replace it. For less than $200 delivered I can get a nice used pair of complete door panels.

Attached is a photo showing the texture. Looks like vinyl to me and matches the texture of the dash. My car definitely doesn't have the upgraded full leather interior.

Found a place in AZ called Precision Chassis Works with a pair of a '99 that they say has the textured finish.
