Question about a CDR-23
Hey, I need some info FAST!
Like an idiot, I bought a CDR-23 (radio/CD unit) off Ebay before checking to see if it will work in my 1997 Boxster. I've found out that it uses fiber optics, but I'm wondering if I can still use it if I don't have it hooked up to a CD changer... which I don't have anyway. The plugs on the back of the CDR-23 look identical to what I have on my CDR-210. Toolpants or others with experience or knoweldge on this, should I keep this unit I bought and try and make it work or sell it and recoup the 125.00 I am out? |
Not sure if this answers your question, but my Boxster S (2002) had the CDR-23 fitted as an upgrade by the 1st owner. However, the CD changer is not in the car. The wiring is there, but no actual changer under the front bonnet. It still works fine though.

Well, that's good news. If anyone else wants to chime in I sure would appreciate it.

If you can find out if the car it came from had a sound upgrade option then it may be optical only! Hope that helps!! |
