Clutch replacement
Hi guys. This is my first post and I'm glad I came across this forum. I have a dilema!!!
My Boxster S is going in for some warranty work at 21,000 miles (32,000km approximately) to replace a crankshaft oil seal. The dealer has suggested that it may be a good idea to replce the clutch while we're doing this job, to save on labour costs. My question is - do I need to replace the clutch? To add to the dilema - I may change the car (upgrade to new Boxster S or Cayenne) in September when the warranty runs out. Any opinions would be welcome. Also - have you seen these rims. I'm gettin them - without a doubt! (Hope the pic shows up) |
I know the life of the clutch is much longer than 20k miles if the car is not abused. I'm not sure where you clutch is at as far as wear goes so I can't give you a definative answer. Those wheels are huge! They look like dubs, but they must be 19's.

As Adam wisely points out, it depends on the car. With normal use, a clutch you make it to 50 K for sure.
Those wheels are awesome! Good luck. :D |
20 inches - and a nice price tag to go with them
|
Oh, they are "dubs". I didn't know know you could go that big on a boxster.
|
What are Dubs then? I know these rims are made by Tech Art in Germany
|
lol, Dubs are just slang for any 20 inch rim. It's a common word in in the African American community and oft used by rappers. Dub dueces are 22 inch rims just FYI. I just use it sometimes to be "hip." :)

'Dubs' = 20" wheels.
