Locked with window open?

Hi guys,

curious to know if anyone has worked out a way of leaving the window down a little (to let cool air in the car while parked in the sun) with the car locked? As soon as I lock my '97 986, it automatically rolls the windows right up?

Nearly summer down here in Australia, keen to work this out for then!

Thanks,
Sam

That's odd. Are you locking it with the key? If I lock mine with the key and hold it to the right (clockwise) the windows will roll up. Otherwise though I leave my '00 S locked with the windows cracked open all the time!

not the best solution of course but you could just unlatch the handle for the top. Of course that'll disable the motion sensors but at least the windows will be open a few inches...

As long as you leave the window open more than how much it "dips" for door opening and closing, it should not go back to full close...

Thats what I do to keep the car cool

for when I come back to it. Top cracked partially open. Windows up. No birds or open temptation to make it a trash basket for envious folks strolling by. I keep nothing in it I can't afford to lose.

Thanks guys,

I'll try using the key to lock it instead of the remote. Could be an alarm system thing/feature?

Cheers,
Sam
