Where I've bought parts and stuff

Like most Boxster owners, I have had to repair what the previous owner didn't.
Here's the list of where I have bought items:

Autozone
Suncoast Porsche
Parts America
Oklahoma Foreign
Home Depot
Meijers
Bert Smith Porsche
Rock Auto
Circuit Solutions
Pelican

So I have only had to go to the dealer twice...not bad.

I've bought parts for my Porsches from all over. Yesterday I got an AOS from the dealer for $105, which wasn't too bad considering it would have cost more from Vertex with overnight shipping, and I still got it faster.

I think I've used most those you listed plus a number more. Not for the Boxster though, my 944 has been far more needy as a race car.

I've had my Box about 8 years and have never set foot in the dealership. I do most of my own work and it's a bit more than changing windshield wiper blades. My indie shop and and a parts house can get me anything I need at great prices and have far more insight (and creativity) into solving problems...(alot like some people here).

Regards, PK

I didn't walk into Bert Smith Porsche (in St Pete)... arrived on a flatbed.
Gotta love AAA.
And Suncoast was internet orders... interior trim.

Actually I did walk into my local dealer.... once. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I lied.
I will be going to my local dealer... Tomorrow... With a crushed front bumper. Right after the insurance adjuster looks at it.

Sitting at a stop sign and I happen to look up to see the car in front of me, in reverse backing up at a high rate of speed. No time to react or hit the horn. Bam, right smack into my front bumper. Lights are good, the frunk is fine, hood ok. Looks like just the bumper.
100% her fault. Poor girl was crying her eyes out about hitting a Porsche.

I'll post the cell phone pics later.

Yeah, I've noticed that Boxsters can attract cougars.

So why was she backing up at a high rate of speed?
And not watching where she was backing?

She pulled up too far (funny intersection) and a tanker truck was turning. She back up to make sure the truck didn't clip her front end.

Never looked back. As to why? Don't know. I could only speculate.
