Salvage Yard - recommendations?

I need a few trim and dash pieces - any recommendations or experiences with the porsche recyclers? I am in MI - as far as I know there is no local used parts source.

While I don't have first hand knowledge, I've heard good things about 'Oklahoma Foreign'.

OK Foreign is good, I have bought some wheels from them. One phone dial I asked for the cheapest one they had because it was for a race car and got what could be described as flawless. So props there. Also Parts Heaven and the LA Porsche salvage place are also both great to deal with. Depending on what you want some might have parts while others might not.

Silver Star Recycling in Rancho Cordova.

I've heard some very mixed reviews of the LA guys. Don't take my word on it though. Just do a search on their name here and on 6speed before buying.

I had good results from Oklahoma Foreign. I bought off E-Bay, but you may want to call them instead.

Another place to check is ...

dcauto.com

I recently bought a steering wheel from LA Dismantler and was pleased with the quality.

Honestly, I have had good luck with everyone mentioned here. I had a couple issues too.

I think it goes a long way to call directly and make inquiries, stating you only want parts in excellent condition and will return them if not up to your standard. This could mean a slightly higher price, but that's a price I've always been willing to pay for pristine parts, still much cheaper than buying new.

Mazda Porsche in Rancho Cordova, good prices. I just hate dealing with the shadiness of junkyards around here though. If I remember correctly the owners name is Sam and he's super young like 22-25ish,with a big attitude problem. His Dad and brothers that are there around the shop are cool to deal with though.

dcauto has been GREAT! Dude hooked me up with an option aluminum handbrake and e-brake on my old 99' for $125 shipped for both in great condition.

Here is my list for used and new Porsche parts. If I need something, I just get on the horn and get price+shipping quotes. As for sleazy, sometimes that's just what I'm looking for. :D
