Question about painting rear center console

My rear center console is looking old and I want to paint it. A few questions. How difficult is it to take out the console? Any web sites with step by step directions in removing the console?

Also, has anyone used Bumperplugs to paint the console? Were you pleased with the results? Any other places used to paint the console?

Thanks for the help.
Eric

My console is black and soft-toch material peeled off. I used scotch brite to strip what was left (it leaves plastic untouched for better texture). I then used SEM Landau Black interior spray paint ($12 in my local auto-paint store).
It looks brand new now.
Make sure you remove all the softtouch though.
P.S. Console is prety easy to remove. I remember there were a couple tricky screws (under storage compartment bottom, plastic just lifts off and exposes handbrake adjustments and screws, also - one under the change holder in the same storage compartment). couple under cigarette lighter and shifter. Lift carefully, there are wires attached.
Good luck. It can be all done in one day.

I remember a post with pics but I cannot find it now.
Anyway, this should help:

Handbrake remove

Obviously you do not need to follow all the steps in your case :)

Eric at Bumperplugs is one of the very top people in the Porsche aftermarket community. Great service. Great quailty.

He even donated door prizes to this Forum for our TOD trip in 2007.

al83s, How is the Landau black coating holding up? My F355 Spider has some parts that need to be stripped and re-rubberized and I'm trying to figure out what to use.
