I believe at one time an individual was compensated based on his contribution to a corp. or other endevior. I believe we no longer have that type of system in place, and compensations are awarded based on other criteria, as evidenced by the article you posted.
In other words, and in my opinion, too few make too much to produce too little. Again, look at compensation packages for those who run corporations in to BK. Should we not reward good stewardship with increased compensation? of course.
Should we punish failure with forfeiture of compensation? If I fail at my job, I'll be forfeiting any future compensation, and I will gladly play by those rules. At this time those individuals leading large cap, multinational corps do not.
BTW did you get long HMC under $20? I remember talking about awhile ago.
