Putting the top up and down

How fast does the motor that makes the top go up and down wear out? How often do you guys use the top? I am moving to Florida and it gets very rainy there at some times and I think I'll have to be putting the top up a lot, but I don't want to kill the motor or whatever powers the top. Also, what does it cost to replace the motor for that, in case it did go out?

Thanks guys :)

I am sure the top motor is quite robust so feel free to use it as often as need be. And while it can rain a lot in Florida in the summer it depends on where you are, as well as the time of day. I live about 100 yards from the Atlantic and we get a lot less rain than a few miles inland.

From what I've read it's the stock cable ends that will dick you, not the motor.

I'm actually in North Dakota right now, but moving to Tampa this weekend. :)

Thanks for the replies. I will the top without fear!

Use it as much as possible...things can always be replaced! I'm looking forward to driving my car this weekend, as it's been sitting in the garage since the beginning of June untouched...warm weather season is way too short in northern Illinois!
