cigarette lighter replace

Okay I need to seperate the old female electric part from the lighted ring,I have the panel removed and the three swich plugs pulled but can't figure out the release. I've pushed on the clear tab that seemes to be the obvious thing to do but no luck, I know this is my fault, my ex says it's all my fault.

it's a PITA, but it just pushes out. The center pushes out of the ring from the backside and the ring pushes out from the backside of the dash trim piece. Incidentally, if you are upgrading to the US spec lighter, you also need to replace the lighted ring trim too as the euro spec trim ring will not fit the us one.

Good luck

yea, I've pushed till I've got sore hands but still no luck. My first reaction is to hit it with a hammer being a carpenter and all, but I'm sure that won't help. NEXT.

No, she'll file charges if you hit her.

Oh, you probably meant the plug.

It is still your fault even if she isn't around to tell you.
