Radio Code MISSING

I just purchased a 2000 boxster with no radio code. I just replace my AMM and unhooked the battery to reset the CEL. I have called porsche and they said they need the serial number off th eback of the radio to get the code - therefore I have to take thCD player out to get the serial number?? Any one have feedback on steps to remove the radio or other ideas on how to get the codes?
Thanks,

Push and hold the TP button for 10 seconds and you will see Becker on the display. Then rotate the right knob 2 clicks clockwise and the serial number will come up.

If they have the VIN, they can find the S/N on their computer.

Swing your car by a dealership and ask them to procure the code for you and write it on down for you and while they're at it, punch it in so you don't have to.

It was free at my local Porsche dealership.
