Heads up!! Don't buy the motor mount from Cheetahonline.com, I installed one of his 11 months ago and 2 weeks ago my car developed this strange noise from the suspension that cost me 1500.00 worth of unneccessary parts and labor, finally after a saga I found out that the mount had failed. It seems the rubber bushing in the cheetahonline mount is too soft and slips out of the mount, this created metal to metal contact and rumbling sounds on turns and bumps. I replaced my rear struts and control arms thinking it was the problem, thanks to curious mechanic friend we were able to pinpoint it sound to the replaced mount. I emailed cheetahonline twice never got any answer. I picked up an OEM mount for $175.00 and had it installed for another $100.00. I took some pictures as they were removing the part....long story short buy the OEM part.

Honestly?

From your in car shot? It appears whomever installed it left two pieces out. The two pieces that would have helped keep it in place.

I agree... it doesn't look like the two metal plates were installed... they would keep the mount centered in the aluminum casting. As a result of the improper install poly mount vibrated out and then tore since too much pressure was pushing on too little material.

The WEVO mount is specifically designed to eliminate the possibility of this happening by BOLTING two pieces together that sandwhich and cause the urethane-like material to expand against the wall of the stock mount.

I'll stick with using the WEVO mount. Real engineers developing and testing, not an armchair engeer sitting at home deciding we need a replacement.

The Wevo mount looks quite slick...I may have to buy one just because; even though my car has but 15k miles, the rubber may be deteriorating.

I have been looking at the Wevo motor mount but it says for racing purpose cars. For street cars they recommend the 987 mount instead. Does the wevo mount cause a noticable degredation of ride quality that is inappropriate for street cars or those that do double duty between street and track (like mine)?

My girlfriend already complains about the ride and that's with stock suspension and mounts. Perhaps with 86k the car needs some sprucing up in that department but I drive it daily and frankly can't remember what it felt like 50k miles younger.

The ride quality doesn't change, what you end up feeling is engine vibration. Vibration that has always been there, but was dumbed down with the failing engine mount. They all fail. There is no way around it, until you replace with a 987 mount. A LOT of people have taken the plunge with the WEVO mount on the street and have NO issues with it :)

There is a reason why it is priced very similar to the stock CaymanS/987 BoxsterS engine mount :)

Motor Mount issues

Inspected the mount on my car yesterday and it is toast. Ordering the WEVO mount from you along with a new AOS.

There was a lot of oil around the AOS, it was actually dripping down onto the ground. The whole area around the AOS is wet. I figure that it is about to go!
Is that a symptom of the AOS getting ready to fail?
