The cat delete is certainly a contributing factor to the sound. The muffler "hack" can be searched in the performance threads. I thought I read one set of cats could be deleted without causing a failure at inspection. I would want to make sure of that, also if you drive at all with the top up you should consider whether permanent loud is really what you want.

I have this exact setup on my '02 S and can verify the sound...it is superb!

Removing the secondary cats does nothing to trigger CELs and I've had zero problems passing emissions testing and inspection (IL and WI).

The bypass hack is one of the best and least expensive mods you can do for your car. The exhaust screams starting around 3800 rpm, but is not terrible different at cruising speed, without drone or resonance.

I'm interested in hearing more feedback on this set-up. I bought my '02 S used with the B & B triflow on it already, the owner did give me the original exhaust. The B & B does drone a bit, not too badly though. Here is a youtube vid (previous owner made them) of my car with the B & B, will the above set-up sound much different / less drone? Tough call I know...maybe one of you guys have had both:

i tried to get a sound of the exhaust as it took off on the freeway, but too muich wind noise.

i have some other videos but they are in .mov format and I haven't bought software yet that will convert them into mpg.
